Sitting amongst maturing casks of whisky on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Chief’s Son Distillery owners and custodians Stuart and Naomi McIntosh tell the tale of how the following words brought about the project and passion that stands before them today,

“My Grandparents passed the love of whisky through my parents to me and I want to make sure my children pass it onto their children”.

These 25 winning words delivered an incredible and inspiring whisky adventure that planted the seed that would grow into Chiefs Son Distillery.

Chiefs Son Distillery is the embodiment of an ancient craft. For hundreds of years through Scottish history, the cherished art and science of craft distilling has changed little — and has brought about much passion, enjoyment and satisfaction in each glass. Chief’s Son aims not just to honour, but to elevate the true hand-crafted, original style of whisky, developed by their forefathers over some 500 years.

Whilst the McIntosh family will operate Chiefs Son Distillery for many, many years to come, they recognise that they are temporary Malt Whisky Custodians and that whisky and its story will outlive us all. However, they are honoured to be creating a living part of history, helping to build and continue the whisky legacy and in doing so, help to connect people, families and generations.
