Launched in June 2018, Launceston Distillery is passionate about producing the finest quality Tasmanian single malt whisky. Traditional methods and equipment combine with skilful craftsmanship, to ensure that every bottle of Launceston Distillery whisky is finished to perfection.

Launceston Distillery sits proudly in the heart of Tasmania, based at Launceston Airport’s Hangar 17 – the state’s oldest commercial aviation building. Situated in the gateway to Northern Tasmania, a region rich in natural beauty and renowned for its premium food, wine and, now, whisky.

Under the guidance of head distiller Chris Condon, Launceston Distillery takes advantage of what the Australian viticultural scene has to offer, and uses maturation regimes including Tawny Cask (an Australian Port), Apera Cask (an Australian Sherry) and Bourbon Cask. These expressions offer a variety of rich aromas and flavours to explore.

As the first distillery in Launceston to be licensed to produce whisky since the 1830’s, Launceston Distillery—with patience and process—have created a product that would do their forebears very proud.
